Our Cardiac Rehab Mentors volunteer program are a committed group of volunteers who use TMC Cardiac Rehab as well as families, friends and health professionals interested in cardiac rehabilitation services. Many are long-time survivors of cardiac disease and provide living examples of the benefits of maintaining healthy hearts through exercise, lifestyle changes and reduction of risk factors.

Education and Outreach

Many people with heart disease, including those who have had a heart attack, stroke or other cardiac event, are not aware of the benefits of a medically supervised cardiac rehabilitation program to help them return to an active life and reduce their risk of further heart problems.

Cardiac Rehab mentors educate health care professionals and the general public through outreach at community events, health fairs and one-on-one inpatient meetings. They raise money to support TMC Cardiac Rehab's purchase of additional exercise equipment, funding financial scholarships and educational materials to support the program. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

How Do Individuals Become Mentors?
