Social Media Commenting Policy

We encourage fans and followers to share thoughts and opinions on our social media and digital communication channels, but we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner. TMC does not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages. Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible, and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made to our profile.

A comment will be deleted if it contains:

  • Hate speech
  • Profanity, obscenity, vulgarity or harassment
  • Nudity
  • Defamation to a person or people
  • Name calling and/or personal attacks
  • Comments whose main purpose are to sell a product
  • Comments that infringe on copyrights
  • Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly
  • Identifying patient information (name, room number, etc.)
  • Include private medical or confidential information
  • Photographs of patients, visitors and/or staff obtained without permission*
  • Other comments that the TMC Digital Team deems off-topic or inappropriate

By submitting a comment on our blog you agree that the comment content is your own, and to hold our organization, TMC, and all subsidiaries and representatives harmless from any and all repercussion, damages or liability.

Posting of non-TMC links on any of our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) do not constitute official endorsement on behalf of TMC. All external links posted as comments on TMC social media posts will be reviewed and may be deleted.

Repeated violations of the TMC social media and digital communication commenting policy may cause the author to be blocked from our social media and digital communication channels.

Social media and digital communication is a 24/7 medium, but our moderation capabilities are not. Please do not use our social media platforms to solicit medical advice. Additionally, we may not see every inappropriate comment right away, and encourage our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond politely.
