In 1985 a group of former employees formed the TMC Alumni Association to keep a connection to TMC after retirement. Membership is only $12 a year and is opened to any retired or soon-to-be retired employee.
The group meets the first Thursday of the month -- September through May. Most meetings are at the Tucson Women's Club, 6245 E. Bellevue St. (one block north of Speedway, half a block west of Wilmot). Parking is in the back of the building. Lunch is provided for a nominal fee.
In addition to lunch, meetings typically include a guest speaker. This speaker is often a TMC executive or other staff member who gives updates on TMC happenings or information specific to their fields. Monthly newsletters also keep members informed.
Several times a year, the Alumni Associations collects donations to fund programs that benefit Children's Miracle Network, the TMC Marks Fund for employee assistance, employee scholarships or the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
This eclectic group has one thing in common -- everyone has worked at TMC for at least five years. All employees and their guests are welcome. If you know a retired TMC employee who may be interested in joining, please share this information with that person.

The next luncheon is Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Claim Jumper, 3761 E. Broadway Blvd. (southeast corner of El Con Mall property). Cost is $20 for members and $22.10 for guess, payable by check to TMC Alumni. The menu will be available at the restaurant with several entrees from which to choose. Iced tea, coffec and soft drinks included. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is at noon.
